Care
Groups are a foundational part of the body at Gold Hill Road. The primary focus of our care groups is
the “caring of the group”. In recent years our body has
experienced a fairly significant amount of growth and therefore the
challenge of caring and supporting the body has increased.
The
vision of our Care Groups is to minister, support, love and care for our
brothers and sisters in Christ.
This
vision is based on the following passage:
Romans 12:4-8
Just as each of
us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the
same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each
member belongs to all the others.
We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying,
let him use it in proportion to his faith. If
it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if
it is encouraging , let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs
of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern
diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.
As
members of the body of Christ it is our individual charge to search our
hearts, study scripture and pray asking for understanding regarding our
own gifts. Then, we must put those
gifts into practice in service to the body and Christ.
Our
Care Groups will be the physical manifestation of the body using it’s gifts in service.
