Confession
Confession is
the verbal result of faith.
The initial proclamation of the gospel called people to make a
decision concerning Jesus and declare their faith. In the conversions in the New
Testament, believers declared their belief as a predecessor to becoming a
Christian. Paul said in
Romans 10:10, “confess with the mouth unto salvation”. When one becomes convinced and
wants to become a Christian, the first step is to verbally declare their
belief that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.
But this is not
a one-time event. Throughout
life, in appropriate venues, and whether with friend or foe, we are to
verbally confess our belief.
Jesus said that if we will confess Him before men, He will confess
us before His Father.
