Christian Study - Judging

Judging
Judging
(Matthew 7:1) is often misquoted by those who are not open-minded to God's
Word. A careful examination of the context of the Scriptures shows that
judging (discerning) is demanded. In order to take the mote out of thy
brother's eye, we have to discern that he has a mote in his eye. Since we
will all be judged by God's Word, how can we go wrong by judging righteous
judgment according to His Word?
Matthew
7:1-5
|
Judge
not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you
will be judged;
and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And
why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not
consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your
brother, "Let me remove the speck from your eye"; and
look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the
plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove
the speck from your brother's eye. (NKJV)

John
7:24
|
"Do
not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous
judgment."

John
12:48
|
[Jesus
said] He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that
which judges him -- the
word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.

Corinthians 5:12,13
|
For
what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do
you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God
judges. Therefore "put away from yourselves the evil
person."

Corinthians 6:2-5
|
Do
you not know that the
saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by
you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Do you not
know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that
pertain to this life? If then you have judgments concerning things
pertaining to this life, do you appoint those who are least
esteemed by the church to judge? I say this to your shame. Is it
so, that there is not a wise man among you, not even one, who will
be able to judge between his brethren?

Titus
1:9
|
Holding
fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching,
that he may be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute
those who contradict. (NAS)

James
5:19,20
|
Brethren,
if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him
back, let him know that he
who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from
death and cover a multitude of sins.
