Nolan Collins presented a great lesson recently, and we know Than will do
the same. It is good to have our university students home for the
summer. Jeff and Mary Alice will be on vacation next Sunday.
SUCCESSFUL HAITI TRIP
Jeff
reports a very successful 8th annual preacher training effort in Haiti.
285 men were involved from 87 different congregations, so it was well
attended both in body and in spirit. Thank you for your prayers and
finances which made the trip possible. Jeff gave a report last Sunday
morning, which you can hear on our website.
SYMPATHY

extend our sympathy to Mark Inness & family on the death of his
grandmother, Luvenna Baldridge, in Arkansas.

grandmother, Ruth Burleson, in Bakersville, NC.

recently learned of Doris Sevener’s passing on June 28th. Many of
you knew her and Bruce from Providence Rd. A memorial service has yet to

Group # 2 plans a luncheon downstairs after morning services next

HIGH SCHOOL DEVO
Devotional tonight will be at the Hinson’s following services and
continuing through Aug. 10 with the exception of next Sunday night.
MIDDLE SCHOOL DEVO
The
plans for this week’s devotional have changed. Listen closely
for the new arrangements.
BIBLE BOWL / YOUTH LOCK-IN
Our
young people will have a Lock-In Friday night at the building. Fun
and games are planned for all, so bring your friends! Times for
middle-schoolers & under is 7 – 9:30 PM; older kids from 7 PM – 12 AM.
Please sign up by Wednesday on the lime green sheet you’ll find on
the youth bulletin board.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
VBS is
only 3 weeks away on Saturday Aug. 2nd! There’s a sign-up sheet on
the board next to the library for kids age 4 – 11 / 6th grade. Please
sign-up A.S.A.P. giving all requested information to help us make plans.
Be sure to invite friends and relatives; sign them up as well. *NOTE*:
We need volunteers to be teachers, group leaders and helpers. Please

ICE CREAM SOCIAL INVITATION
The
Westerners and the SW Care Groups jointly invite everyone to an
Old-fashioned Ice Cream Social at 3 PM Sat. Aug. 23rd at the
building. A bonus attraction will be a showing of the movie “The
Prince of Egypt” at 4 PM. Plan now to attend this delicious
